DRINKING ALONE

F#0

            C
Drinking alone
             G
Thinking of you
                 Am
Another night at home
                 Eb   F#0
In my private saloon
            C
Drinking alone
                  G
In a bed made for two
                         Am
I could wipe you from my phone
                        Eb    F#0
But you're still in the book
G7
Now I'm cold and I'm scared
And I'm tired and broke
Grow my hair
      G#              C / F#0
And I let myself go

            C
Drinking alone
             G
Thinking of you
                 Am
Your photos on the wall
                 Eb   F#0
Rub salt in the wound
            C
Drinking alone
                  G
I howl at the moon
                 Am
My mind's a catacomb
                        Eb    F#0
And your memory's the tomb
G7
Now I'm cold and I'm scared
And I'm tired and broke
Grow my hair
      G#              C / F#0
And I let myself go

C            Am
O my darling where you running?
F              G#
We were happy, weren't we happy?
C            Am
O my darling where you running
F              G#          Eb   F#0   C
We were happy, weren't we happy?
   F#0
Drinking alone

C            Am
O my darling where you running?
F              F#0
We were happy, weren't we happy?

(Repeat x 9)

(O my darling, where you running?
We were so happy, weren't we happy baby?
Do you remember when we visited
That beautiful winery together?
We bought a dozen bottles of sweet berry wine
We were happy weren't we baby?
Anyway, I didn't get to drink my half of the wine
And I'm pretty low at the moment
There's not a lot of work for an old sea-dog like me
If you still have any feelings for me
You'll drop that wine at my doorstep
In the next couple of days
You could drop them off on your way to law school baby
I don't get up til about 3pm most days
Unless I get some work at the medical testing facility
But it seems like most of the diseases are cured these days
So there's not much work going
O my baby, I remember when we used to drink together
Sometimes we'd have a beer in the afternoon
And then as the afternoon progressed we'd move on
To a different, much stronger kind of alcohol
Sometimes it was a scotch
Sometimes it was a gin
But it was always you and me together
Oh baby, don't do a thing like this...
-Don't dooth at me like this?-
Don't do me like this baby, I need ya
I want you to come on back to me
I'm sick of drinking on my lonesome
I'm running out of shit to drink
And I know you got money
I know you got a job)
